Food Bacteria
Some bacteria cause diseases including food poisoning meningitis and scarlet fever.
Food bacteria. Particularly reptiles snakes turtles lizards amphibians frogs birds baby chicks and pet food and treats. These include meat milk cheese and eggs. They produce poisons that make you feel ill. However any food can become contaminated with salmonella if it touches other contaminated food.
The bacteria salmonella is typically found in foods that come from animals. Bacteria in meat raw meat such as beef pork or lamb can contain a range of different bacterial pathogens including salmonella campylobacter jejuni clostridium perfringens and e. Staphylococcus aureus is our final common type of bacteria that can cause foodborne illness. If e coli originates in the gut it therefore tells us that faecal matter is present and occurs as a result of unhygienic practices.
To eliminate these threats freeze or refrigerate meat as soon as possible after purchasing it. A variety of foods have been linked to salmonella including vegetables chicken pork fruits nuts eggs beef and sprouts. E coli are one of the most commonly known food poisoning bacteria and are what we call an indicator organism. E coli originates from our gut as well as in other mammals such as cattle.
